The busy Aberdeen branch of Hayley Group, the market-leading supply partner to UK industry, has just celebrated its 10th anniversary on the back of another record-breaking year.
Branch manager Paul McGillivray and his team of eight increased turnover by 25% last year and they are not stopping there. He wants the branch to double its current turnover by increasing its customer base and selling more products to existing customers.
“Our targets are ambitious every year and we have exceeded them every year,” said Paul, who has 33 years’ experience in the industry. “We set a new record last year with 25% turnover growth and I am looking to double turnover in the next five years.
“We have a very good and loyal staff, offering customers about 150 years of experience between us. They are key to the success of the business because they offer good core product knowledge of everything we sell.
“Hayley Group’s mission to have the best stock and provide the best service. To do that, they need the best people.”
Paul and his team plan to celebrate the branch’s 10th anniversary with a well-deserved meal and night out in April.
He joined Hayley Group from a rival company 10 years ago and set up the successful Aberdeen branch in his hometown. Staffing has increased from five to eight over this period and Paul loves the autonomy he is given by the company to run the branch and service local customers in the best possible way.
The business is now firmly established in a 7,500 square feet unit on Hareness Park, Hareness Circle, Altens, which has a trade counter, sales office, and large warehouse which stocks around 7,000 individual product lines, from small bolts to a two-metre diameter bearing.
The extensive range of components and consumables includes bearings, seals, power transmission, fluid power, drives, lubricants, PPE, and tools.
The branch serves an area 60 miles around Aberdeen and most of its customers are involved in the gas, oil, fishing, food, quarrying industries and whisky distilling.
