The Situation
Staff had complained about high temperatures within the paper mill. Onsite engineers had found that the mill’s air handling units (AHUs) were running inefficiently. A filtration specialist from HAYLEY DEXIS attended, and identified that the bag filters within the AHUs were the root cause. The filters had a significant build-up of particle and brick dust, and this posed a serious risk to the motors with the units.
The Solution
Replacement bag filters were needed quickly. With the customer’s current supplier quoting a lead-time of three weeks, HAYLEY DEXIS used their supplier relationships to source and arrange delivery within just five days. The new filters were installed, and the problem resolved. The solution was replicated for three further AHUs at the facility, with replacements delivered within five days, once again. An arrangement was made for the customer’s local HAYLEY DEXIS branch to carry a buffer stock of bag filters in various sizes, to make the purchasing of future replacements even easier.
"THE UNITS CAN NOW RUN EFFICIENTLY, WITH LESS UNNECESSARY STRAIN ON THEIR PERFORMANCE."
The Result
The prompt sourcing and delivery of the new bag filters saved the existing filters from causing further damage to the AHU motors, and prevented a possible breakdown. The units can now run efficiently, with less unnecessary strain on their performance. The customer had previously underestimated their own stock holding of bag filters, and following advice from HAYLEY DEXIS, this has been increased. With stock now also held at the client’s local branch, replacement filters are available for future maintenance requirements.
