THE SITUATION
A manufacturer of savoury products, based in Northern Ireland, was facing issues with their current supplier of food safe lubricants for components within their pneumatic systems. The purchase price had been rising over several years. The lead times had also increased, leaving the factory without a stock of oil on several occasions. As the site already used HAYLEY DEXIS and its branch in Ballymena, County Antrim, for bearings and transmission components, the customer turned to the Ballymena branch team for support.
THE SOLUTION
Having taken the name of the customers’ current lubricant supplier and applications, the team contacted the dedicated lubricants specialists at HAYLEY DEXIS HQ for their recommendations. The chosen solution was Rocol®
FOODLUBE® Hi-Power 22. This lubricant is NSF 537 registered, NSF H1 & ISO 21469 certified and reduces material wear to extend component life. Rocol® FOODLUBE is manufactured
at the company’s facility in Leeds, enabling rapid distribution across the country, compared to the customer’s previous lubricant, which is manufactured in mainland Europe.
"THE CUSTOMER IS BENEFITTING FROM A PRODUCT MADE IN THE UK AND AVAILABLE FROM A LOCAL BRANCH."
THE RESULT
The customers spend on airline lubrication has been reduced by around £1,500 per year, thanks to HAYLEY DEXIS being able to supply the ROCOL® FOODLUBE® Hi-Power product at a competitive price. The lead time for sourcing this product has been reduced for the customer, thanks to ROCOL® FOODLUBE® being manufactured in the UK, and HAYLEY DEXIS having a network of interconnected local branches available, which extend to Northern Ireland. This process reduces the risks of the factory suffering unplanned downtime.
