The Situation
A large producer of pork products for the consumer market had employed a number of engineering apprentices. As part of their apprenticeship programme, they needed training on the fitting, maintenance and replacement of bearing units across the facility.
The Solution
Hayley DEXIS contacted NTN, a strategic supply partner for bearings, and arranged a suitable date for them to visit site. The date of the training came around and four apprentices were trained by NTN personnel. The session was delivered in one day and as a mixture of both classroom-based learning and physical demonstration. The customer was not charged for the training, representing an immediate cost-saving.
"APPRENTICES WILL NOW BE MORE CONFIDENT IN TACKLING BEARING-RELATED TASKS."
The Result
Feedback from the day’s training was overwhelmingly positive, with the apprentices leaving with a much improved understanding of bearings and best practice around the fitting and maintenance of them. Following the training, the apprentices will now be more confident in tackling bearing-related tasks at the site, and able to carry these out with knowledge of best practice informing their actions.
