ABB has appointed HAYLEY DEXIS, which has its headquarters in Halesowen, West Midlands, as the first UK national distributor for its portfolio of high-efficiency low voltage (LV) electric motors. HAYLEY DEXIS is one of the UK’s foremost value-added providers of leading-brand engineering components, consumables, and related after-sales and technical support services. This landmark agreement expands its electric powertrain services by adding ABB’s world-class motors to its drives offering.
To support the new partnership, HAYLEY DEXIS | Drives has established a substantial strategic stock holding of ABB’s IE3 Premium Efficiency motors at its specialist facility in Dudley, West Midlands. This inventory is tailored to meet immediate industrial demands for energy efficient LV motors . It enables HAYLEY DEXIS to ensure rapid availability for UK customers, backed by a robust logistics agreement that guarantees replacement stock within just 5-7 working days, ensuring supply chain continuity.
In the longer term, the agreement will provide access to a wide portfolio of motors right up to ABB’s world-leading IE6 Hyper-Efficiency SynRM technology. However, beyond product supply, the new partnership unlocks a depth of service that sets a new standard for HAYLEY DEXIS. For the first time with any motor manufacturer, the agreement includes direct support from ABB for onsite commissioning and installation services for motors and drives.
“ABB has an outstanding track record of delivering some of the industry’s most innovative and energy efficient LV motor and drive solutions”, said Roopesh Chandran, Commercial Director at HAYLEY DEXIS. We’re delighted to welcome them on board so that we can make their technologies available to our customers.”
“We are incredibly proud to be the first UK national distributor for ABB LV motors in the UK,” added Mark Jones, Divisional Manager of HAYLEY DEXIS | Drives. “This isn’t just a stock agreement; it is a full-service partnership. Having ABB support us directly with onsite commissioning and installation, alongside our new stock capabilities in Dudley, allows us to offer a ‘cradle-to-grave’ solution. It effectively closes the loop between product supply and operational performance for our customers.”
“This partnership with HAYLEY DEXIS marks a significant step forward in strengthening ABB’s national support footprint for LV motors across the UK, while complementing and enhancing our existing ABB Value Provider network,” said Rob Wood, Local Division Manager – ABB Motors & Generators UK. “By combining our highly efficient motor technologies with HAYLEY DEXIS’ exceptional service capability and newly expanded strategic stock, we are ensuring UK customers receive rapid availability and, expert technical support, creating a seamless experience from specification through to commissioning.
