Leading UK industrial supply specialist HAYLEY DEXIS celebrates its 50th year in business
HAYLEY DEXIS, one of the UK’s leading industrial supply specialists, moves into its 50th year of business. Established in 1976, in Blackheath in the West Midlands, the business has come a long way over the past five decades.
Operating from over 50 locations across the UK, with a mixture of trade counters, engineering centres and administrative offices, the company now employs over 1,300 people. HAYLEY DEXIS is the UK’s number one MRO distributor. The Company continues to maintain large local stockholding and places huge importance on having technical experts near to customers, from Belfast to Bury St. Edmunds and from Inverness to Redruth.
The Company began as a stockist of industrial bearings. Although bearings remain a key component of its offer, the company now supplies fluid power components, lubricants, drive and transmission products, seals, fasteners, tools and consumables, PPE, and provides an ever-growing portfolio of services including gearbox and pump repair services, training courses, onsite fluid care services, as well as a suite of industrial vending and stores management solutions.
The Company has encountered many changes in the industrial supply sector, however one founding principle that has been unwavering is its focus on people. People play a critical role in providing industry-leading customer service. There is a firm belief that digitalisation is important, but physical locations with local staff remain critical to supporting customers. The Company maintains its long-held strapline, “Stock | Service | People”, to this day.
The 50th year ushers in several major projects, such as its HQ renovation and new distribution centre, significant investment in IT infrastructure alongside securing new authorised distributor statuses for leading brands.
Part of the global industrial and construction supply group, Descours et Cabaud (D&C) since 2016, and operating under its industrial division ‘DEXIS’, the Company is fit for the challenges of tomorrow while retaining its founding principles.
