Since introducing its first courses in 2023, HAYLEY DEXIS has become one of the UK’s largest BFPA-accredited hydraulic and pneumatic training providers, underscoring our commitment to supporting the engineering sector’s evolving needs. With industry-wide challenges such as talent shortages, multi-skilled workers needing specialised training, and an increasing emphasis on safety, we’ve positioned ourselves as a fluid power resource for businesses across the UK. We’re proud to deliver courses and play a role in shaping engineering expertise well into the future.
ADDRESSING THE SKILLS GAP
For many businesses, finding skilled engineers with a robust understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is increasingly difficult. Engineers are often expected to maintain and troubleshoot complex systems without separate training on individual equipment, sometimes relying on limited on-the-job leaning, often based on system failure. We’re bridging this gap by offering courses for apprentices and experienced engineers alike, specifically in fluid power.
HANDS-ON LEARNING
All courses follow a syllabus but are as hands-on as possible, focusing on practical exercises. Engineers build circuits, diagnose faults and work with realistic schematics, gaining the skills and confidence to apply their learning directly to real-world scenarios. Engineer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many comments mentioning that they enjoy our immersive approach. We’re often told by our delegates that they now have a new understanding of systems they have maintained for years. It’s more than just knowledge – it’s a transformation in how engineers approach their work, with safety and efficiency at the forefront.
PARTNERING WITH THE BFPA FOR EXCELLENCE
Our strong relationship with the British Fluid Power Association (BFPA) is central to our success. The BFPA has exacting standards for its training materials and coursework to ensure that engineers receive industry-recognised and highly-relevant qualifications. Each participant leave a HAYLEY DEXIS course with a BFPA-accredited qualification and a safety passport, demonstrating their understanding of critical safety practices. Our partnership also drives innovation. We actively develop new training modules in collaboration with the BFPA, ensuring the courses reflect the latest hydraulic and pneumatic technology advancements. The result is training that meets current industry needs and prepares engineers for future challenges.
ENGINEERING A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
HAYLEY DEXIS’ training programs are more than a response to industry demand – they are an investment in the future of engineering. By training apprentices, we’re helping tomorrow’s skilled professionals. Four our customers, this training offers a solution to immediate skills gaps and a way to future-proof their operations. Our courses are a source of pride for the company’s trainers, who play a crucial role in educating and inspiring participants. Trainee feedback consistently highlights the program’s value, with many companies returning to train additional team members – a testament to the program’s effectiveness and impact.
MAKING A NATIONWIDE IMPACT
We run courses from Inverness to Redruth and everywhere in between, removing the barriers to attendance. In a sector where safety, efficiency, and innovation are paramount, we’re setting a new standard for technical training. As demand for our courses grows, we remain committed to expanding our reach and maintaining our reputation for training excellence. With a focus on relevance, hands-on learning, and industry-leading partnerships, we have aspirations to lead engineering advancement in the UK.
