BFPA-APPROVED Hydraulic Hose Training Delivered To Twenty Two Engineers At Hampshire Amusement Park – CS210

The Situation

HAYLEY DEXIS | Fluid Power have had previous success in delivering hydraulic hose and component training courses to engineers working at some of the UK’s largest amusement parks. A Sales Engineer from a park’s local branch in Poole, Dorset, visited site with a member of the HAYLEY DEXIS | Fluid Power team to identify areas where the engineers and the wider operation could benefit from HAYLEY DEXIS input.

The Solution

The customer was impressed by the range of services that HAYLEY DEXIS could provide them. The hydraulic hose training was of particular interest as they use hydraulic power on most rides and elsewhere around the amusement park. A package of training sessions was quoted for, accepted, and dates put into the diary at a time convenient for the customer. Over the course of three days, twenty-two engineers were trained using a mixture of classroom-based and hands-on teaching methods. Topics covered during the course included: thread and hose identification, hose installation and maintenance, failure analysis, and health and safety. The course is fully-approved by the British Fluid Power Association (BFPA), meaning that the training is recognised by the industry as being of a high standard.

"TWENTY-TWO ENGINEERS WERE TRAINED IN THE SAFE AND EFFECTIVE USE AND MAINTENANCE OF HYDRAULIC EQUIPMENT."

The Result

The training course has armed engineers with the knowledge and confidence to optimise their use and maintenance of hydraulic equipment at the park. With the course having best practice and safety at its core, engineers are now better protected when working on hydraulic equipment, as are visitors to the park. The meantime to repair (MTTR) will doubtlessly also be reduced thanks to improved engineer skills and knowledge, improving visitor experience as a result. Fewer hose failures will also mean lower maintenance costs.
