The Situation
The customer, a producer of pork products based in the South West of England, was looking to reduce energy consumption and costs across their site. The company’s Maintenance Manager spoke to the Branch Manager of his local HAYLEY DEXIS branch and a site visit was arranged.
The Solution
A specialist from the team at HAYLEY DEXIS | Drives joined the site visit to survey the facility for energy-saving potential. A number of IE2 110kW electric motors were operating in a Plant Room on-site and it was determined that an easy win for the Maintenance Manager would be to upgrade these units to newer IE4 models. An order was placed for these units to be replaced, and delivery of the goods was made in good time.

The Result
The use of the more energy efficient motors is actively reducing the electricity consumption of the operation. Spend on energy has decreased, providing the customer with an immediate cost-saving. As a result of the motor upgrade, these assets have also helped to reduce the wider environmental impact of the site.
