The Situation
An established British brewery was struggling to keep track of and maintain the 500+ hoses they have in operation on-site. These challenges were also making compulsory audits for the British Retail Consortium (BRC) extremely difficult to complete, as the customer was having to refer to a large volume of physical paperwork. It was often found that documentation was missing or in a poor state of repair.
The Solution
The on-site HAYLEY DEXIS representative worked with an expert from supply partner Dixon Group Europe, to determine the best course of action. With the customer hoping to improve their ability to identify and repair/replace hoses, Dixon carried out a comprehensive three-day site survey which included the tagging of individual hoses. These identifiers were then logged on a brand-new online register, with access granted to engineers and the site-based HAYLEY DEXIS contact. Bi-annual site surveys were diarised to maintain asset management best practice.
"THE SUBSTITUTE VALVES ARE CONSIDERABLY MORE COST-EFFECTIVE THAN THE LEGACY VALVES."
The Result
The customer is now able to accurately and quickly identify each of the hoses that they have on-site, along with their characteristics. purchase cost-saving of around £40,000. Engineers at the brewery can now easily monitor and maintain their hose assets, saving them a significant amount of time. BRC auditors have also given glowing feedback on the new digital register, as considerable time and effort on their side has also been freed-up. HAYLEY DEXIS and Dixon have also secured next-day availability of replacement hoses for the customer, to minimise the impact maintenance and any potential failures have on the operation.
