The Situation
The customer operates a large facility producing tortilla breads and flatbreads for UK supermarkets. With high volumes of produce being processed round-the-clock to meet demand, uptime and productivity is key to the success of the operation. Due to a lack of filtration on the production-line, the customer was experiencing failures to their hydraulic systems.
The Solution
Members of the specialist fluid power and lubricants teams at HAYLEY DEXIS worked alongside the local branch and filtration partner, HYDAC, to find a solution. A collaborative site visit was conducted to better understand the hydraulic systems being used and to help with recommending a solution that would significantly reduce the number of failures. Following the visit, a HYDAC offline filtration unit was specified. This would resolve the problem caused by a cost-cutting measure put in-place by the OEM that was directly behind the hydraulic system failures.

The Result
With the HYDAC offline filtration solution in-place, the customer has been able to enjoy a range of benefits. These include reduced amounts of downtime caused by hydraulic system failures, and a reduction in oil consumption. This has saved the customer considerable amounts of money both in terms of spend required on expensive hydraulic repairs and on the procurement of oil.
