The Situation
A manufacturer of sustainable packaging solutions required a modern lighting solution for their warehouse. The existing LED lighting in-place was ageing and of very poor quality, with the site’s emergency lighting also falling below current safety standards. Thanks to the long-established relationship between the customer and HAYLEY DEXIS, the local branch in Manchester was contacted for assistance.
The Solution
The team at the HAYLEY DEXIS Manchester branch swiftly arranged for a specialist from Kempton Controls’ Lighting division, to scope the project and identify the best solution for the customer. A proposal was compiled by HAYLEY DEXIS and Kempston Controls, before being accepted by the customer. The project included:
- Bluetooth-enabled IoT fixtured for emergency lighting, allowing real-time monitoring, automated testing, and compliance reporting.
- Replacement of current LED fittings with high-performance LED luminaries.
- Precision light planning for additional lighting throughout the warehouse and goods-out areas.
"THE MODERN LIGHTING HAS REDUCED ENERGY CONSUMPTION BY 50%+"
The Result
The new lighting has reduced the energy usage by over 50%, achieving a significant cost-saving, as a result. A 250% improvement in light levels has created a brighter, safer and more productive working environment for staff working within it. The emergency lighting installed as part of the project has ensured compliance with current safety standards, and is now able to be remotely monitored 27/7/365 via an intuitive mobile application. Instant fault detection and automated testing has streamlined both lighting maintenance and adherence to regulations.
