The Situation
Running a large-scale bakery in Yorkshire, the customer had many different types of industrial lubricant on site, with stores in a generally disorganised state. This meant that the customer had lubricants that were either redundant or in various states of degradation. Very few control measures were in place for the handling and distribution of lubricants around site. The Engineering Manager contacted HAYLEY DEXIS for some assistance in improving how lubricants were being managed.
The Solution
The customer’s local HAYLEY DEXIS branch and ROCOL® collaborated with the on-site Engineering Manager to identify the best solution. A ROCOL care package that included a stainless steel, lockable and food-safe unit to act as effective storage, was implemented. The ROCOL® products inside were selected specifically to suit the application requirements, with clear labelling (e.g. regulatory working symbols) for each item. Stock levels would be monitored by HAYLEY DEXIS to ensure the customer would never face a stockout scenario. ROCOL® would also provide engineers with quality training programmes to ensure best practice was upheld.

The Result
The new lubricant storage and handling facility has improved access to those who need it. It has also increased efficiency with engineers able to identify products quicker than previously. The customer can also be rest assured that their lubricants are compliant, with the added bonus that all products are ISO21469 certified and fully audit compliant. Lubricant availability is now guaranteed, with HAYLEY DEXIS helping to manage stock levels. The on-site engineers are also benefitting from ROCOL® training in product usage and best practice; a drastic improvement on the way lubrication was conducted prior to project.
