The Situation
The customer, a producer of poultry products, had been using the same lubricant products, from the same supplier, for a number of years. They were keen to explore ways that they could make improvements to the way that lubricants were used at the facility, and both extend the service life and improve the efficiency of equipment.
The Solution
The opportunity was identified by the customer’s local HAYLEY DEXIS branch in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, who involved ROCOL® from an early stage. A ROCOL care package was compiled for the customer, beginning with a full site survey which determined the mix of products required, and highlighted all potential problem areas. A hygienically-designed unit was supplied to improve the storage, dispensing, and handling of lubricants on site. The unit was food safe and lockable, enhancing safety, compliance, and control. A colour-coded system was also implemented to make product selection easier. The local HAYLEY DEXIS branch would be responsible for the stocking and replenishment of the new ROCOL® lubricants, providing a single-source lubricant management partner for the site.
"THE CUSTOMER HAS REPORTED IMPROVED RELIABILITY OF MACHINERY, SAVING MONEY AND REDUCING DOWNTIME."
The Result
The site survey provided the customer with detailed documentation of each lubrication point, along with the appropriate product and application instructions. This, supported by several application wallboards, has given engineers the know-how and confidence to execute their new-look maintenance programme. The switch to ROCOL® has also resulted in the customer reporting improved reliability of machinery, saving them money and reducing downtime. A ROCOL care audit compliance folder was also provided, helping the customer to boost compliance. Stock support from HAYLEY DEXIS has also prevented the customer from ever facing a stock-out scenario again.
