The Situation
The customer, a global rail transport manufacturer, had contracted the HAYLEY DEXIS | Rail to provide PPE, tools, and consumables to all of their UK depots. As part of the contract, the team was tasked with introducing the correct footwear for all applicable staff, and assisting in reducing the company’s spend on safety footwear overall.
The Solution
The team at HAYLEY DEXIS | Rail introduced three suppliers to the customer and invited them to audit the environment and gather requirements. Relevant commercials were agreed, and the approved footwear products set. Stock was purchased to enable the customer to be fully supported when orders began to be made. HAYLEY DEXIS | Rail also produced a series of footwear posters to display at the customer’s depots. Distinction was made between products included in a newly-agreed employee allowance and those where an additional “top-up” fee would be required.
"THE NEW SAFETY FOOTWEAR HAS PROVEN TO BE BETTER SUITED TO INDIVIDUAL’S NEEDS."
The Result
The products supplied by HAYLEY DEXIS and their selected supply partners have proven to be well suited to the needs of personnel working within different roles at the customer’s depots. This has improved staff safety and well-being in the workplace and also helped to reduce turn-over of footwear. The setting of a footwear allowance for staff, and the clear publication of any additional costs on the posters, has also helped to control spend.
