PROJECT OVERVIEW
A manufacturer of automotive components was looking to improve the management of tools, consumables and PPE at their facility in the North East of England.
SCOPE OF WORK
A team from the local HAYLEY DEXIS branch and a member of the dedicated vending solutions team attended site and worked with the on-site engineering and maintenance teams to understand their requirements and analyse the inventory that would be passing through the vending machines.
A solution was presented to the customer, involving two carousel-delivery machines and a multi-kiosk locker. All machines would utilise the in-house vepoCONNECT platform to manage stock levels, replenishment, and provide secure access to products inside. The solution was implemented by the experienced smartVEND implementation team, and continues to be supported by both the local branch and vending teams in their ongoing use of the technology.
KEY HIGHLIGHTS
The site now benefits from enhanced inventory management, reducing costs by removing the risk of over-ordering, reducing walking and waiting time for engineers by making key components and consumables, such as PPE, electrodes, and PCP boards, available at the point-of-use, and preventing unplanned downtime by ensuring the availability of products when they are needed.
