HAYLEY 247 DEXIS recently completed a comprehensive overhaul of a 10-tonne helical bevel crane hoist gearbox. This critical component required expert attention to restore optimal functionality and ensure safe operation. Our team utilised specialised knowledge and in-house capabilities to deliver a complete solution, from initial inspection through to final testing.
SCOPE OF WORK
The gearbox overhaul encompassed multiple precision engineering processes. Our team began with complete disassembly and thorough inspection of the hoist gearbox with comprehensive reporting on findings. We performed weld reclamation and precision finish machining of input bores and first reduction stage bores to restore original equipment manufacturer (OEM) bearing tolerances. The process included replacement of all bearings and seals throughout the assembly, as well as metal spray reclamation of output shaft seal journals to restore surface integrity. Our engineers custom manufactured a replacement helical pinion shaft to OEM specifications, followed by meticulous rebuilding of the gearbox with detailed documentation of all gear contacts and backlashes . We completed the overhaul with rigorous test running of the finished gearbox to verify proper operation and professional finish painting to protect against environmental factors.
