We deliver effective quantitative (APC) face fit testing to respiratory protective equipment (RPE) users, across the UK. The service is fully-accredited by fit2fit, the nationwide database of trained and approved testers.

Health and Safety regulations stipulate that all users of tight-fitting face pieces and masks must be fit tested by a competent person. You can trust our trained personnel to deliver a service that protects staff wellbeing and keeps your business compliant.

What is APC Face Fit Testing?

At HAYLEY DEXIS we offer Quantitative APC (Ambient Particle Counting) face fit testing suitable for filtering face pieces (FFPs), half masks, and full face masks. See the below points about what the test involves, what information we need prior to testing, and any expectations we have for the personnel being fitted.

Proper fit testing saves lives, and should be conducted for users of all disposable facepieces, half-face masks and full-face respirators where the equipment is intended to form a seal to the face.

The test takes 20 minutes to complete per person and involves the wearer being asked to perform a series of different exercises that are intended to replicate movements carried-out in a normal working day.

Prior to visiting your premises to carry-out fit testing with your personnel, we will ask you for a number of small details. These help us to guarantee a quality service.

  • Number of people requiring the test
  • Type(s) of RPE required
  • Any desired brands/models of RPE
  • Main point of contact for the testing

Ensure you are clean shaven Don’t drink or eat for at least 1 hour before the test. Don’t smoke/vape for at least 1 hour before the test. Notify our tester of any existing heart/lung problems you may suffer with. Notify our tester of any previous bone breaks affecting the facial area.
