The Situation
A meat-processing facility in Newcastle had suffered a breakdown to a critical valve on their main production line. The failed valve had brought the operation of the line to a complete standstill, and was threatening to negatively impact both revenue and the customers’ ability to meet targets.
The Solution
The urgent call was answered by the customers’ HAYLEY DEXIS contact at the local branch. The branch quickly called-upon the expertise of the dedicated fluid power team, who informed the customer that an exact replacement would not be possible. Although this was the case, the team worked hard to identify and source an alternative Yuken DSG-01 solenoid valve from stock, a 100% interchangeable solution. This was then delivered out-of-hours to a local taxi office, and dispatched to the customer, all within an hour.

The Result
Thanks to the specialist expertise and stockholding of the Fluid Power division, the support from the branch and the proactiveness of HAYLEY DEXIS staff across the board, the replacement valve was back with the customer later that Saturday afternoon. The service provided by HAYLEY DEXIS on this Saturday was appreciated by the customer, as production was reinstated that very same day. This helped to prevent the customer from suffering a lengthy period of downtime which would have hit revenue and affected production targets.
