An asphalt plant in the South East of England had suffered a failure to a pneumatic cylinder on their production line. This failure was affecting the productivity of the plant, and every passing hour was costing the operator. The Engineering Manager at the facility made contact with the team at the HAYLEY DEXIS branch in West Thurrock and requested assistance in a challenging timeframe.
The Solution
The team used their product knowledge to identify a suitable replacement cylinder and rod end, calling upon the technical expertise of strategic supply partner, Camozzi Automation, to confirm. Once approved, Camozzi Automation offered an express build service to support the customer in their time of need, where the components were prepared for dispatch direct to the asphalt plant.

The Result

The express build service provided by Camozzi ensured that the new cylinder was back with the customer by 6pm on the same day as the failure was first reported to HAYLEY DEXIS. It has been estimated that the cost-saving achieved, due to the minimised downtime suffered, was in the region of £5,000.
