
The Situation
A quarry in North Wales had suffered a failure to a shaft-mounted speed reducer drive on site. The breakdown had caused one of the customers’ conveyor applications to grind to a complete halt, meaning productivity was taking a hit with every passing hour.
The Solution
The call came into the customer’s local HAYLEY DEXIS branch, in Oswestry, who worked with the expert in-house drives team to source a solution quickly. Instead of a like-for-like replacement, the teams collaborated to settle on a new and improved direct drive which was delivered to the quarry the very next day. The rapid turnaround was enabled by HAYLEY DEXIS stock, as having the required motor delivered from the manufacturer, in addition to the gearbox, would have added to the lead time.

The Result

The potential for a lengthy period of downtime, which would have had a significant impact on productivity, was eradicated by the next-day service provided.
