The Situation
The customer, a manufacturer of oxygen and vacuum supply and control equipment for the healthcare industry, was experiencing supply chain issues. They were dealing with multiple vendors across different product groups, with the processes of sourcing, delivery, and invoicing consuming significant amounts of time. The problems were causing manufacturing delays, meaning that the critical provision of products into the NHS and other global healthcare systems was under threat.
The Solution
The dedicated Bespoke Components team within HAYLEY DEXIS, along with the customer’s local branch, offered a comprehensive package covering all required product categories from machined and injection-moulded parts to lubricants and hose assemblies. The products would be supplied on a just-in-time (JIT) basis, to ensure optimal delivery, with stock held both centrally at HAYLEY DEXIS HQ and at the local level. The new agreement includes several time-saving initiatives for the customer, with assembly time required shortened by up to 20 minutes per unit in some cases. All strict British standards were also met in the products being supplied.
"THE ASSEMBLY TIME REQUIRED ON MANY UNITS HAS BEEN."
The Result
The customer has been able to reduce the number of suppliers they deal with, saving them both time and money. HAYLEY DEXIS has ensured that they can continue to support the vital healthcare sector with a consistent supply of equipment. With the expertise of the Bespoke Components team and their manufacturing partners, the assembly time required on many units has been reduced. For one such unit, 1000 hours of production time per month has been able to be redistributed. The teams are now working on several new products to satisfy the customer’s unique requirements.
