The customer, a world-leading supplier of plant machinery, was facing challenges around the management of their inventory which included critical parts, supplies, and repair kits. The current process for ordering products was time consuming, expensive, and inefficient. Costs had become a concern for the business, and staff were often finding items were not available (stock-outs), causing production delays.
The Solution
HAYLEY DEXIS recommended their unique industrial vending solution. The vending machines would help to control stock, restricting access to authorised personnel through the use of ID cards or codes. They would also provide engineers with products required for their work at the point-of-use, helping to improve efficiency. The vending machines would also enable automated re-ordering through their connectivity with Cloud-based software, ensuring that stock is always available, while avoiding any overstocking.

The Result
The installation of the machines has been incredibly successful in eliminating the uncontrolled access and consumption of business critical supplies. On automatic air fittings alone, the customer immediately saved £300 per week. Previously, Maintenance Managers were placing more than 50 orders per day, now only 16 orders per month are made; a decrease of nearly 99%. The time previously taken to fulfil orders, and their associated processing cost of up to £90 per order has now been drastically reduced.
